I just got mired in trying to get an Adobe ebook. I paid my money and tried to download. Nothing happened. Went to their digital ebook page and read the FAQ and followed suggestions--no luck.
Then I got snarled up in a wrong username/ wrong password loop. Tried to contact Adobe using a conventional help message box. None apparently exists. So I am out $8.95 big deal. But I spent 3 hrs screwing around. Adobe is too big and to clumsy to deal with.

Well Abdul (and other commenters), here we are in early June and nothing has changed, at least not in New Zealand and even the UK. After extolling the virtues of FlashLite to a colleague in the UK, we have got nowhere trying to get the player for his N90. He has had 2 separate credit cards declined (cc companies the next day confirmed there was no problem with the account). I've also tried from this end with no luck--just an endless stream of blind and circular re-directions, 'An error has occured' useless messages--can't even get v1.1 now as it is no longer in the store. I see Bill Perry has commented on this, but if something is not done NOW, a lot of developers will rightly go elsewhere.

I call customer support... (of course Indian) and then they try and correct my English... then make me wait... then come back and... then say can you wait... then come back and then try and make me wait...then I ask for a supervisor... then he makes me wait.
I write adobe support online and they tell me to call customer service. And you can't reply to their response.
Then I call ( India again) customer service and I'm on hold. I have formed a user group and it's been in existence for 6 months and they haven't posted it on their user group pages.
They aren't listening. Why such bad customer service. I'm on hold right now with them... the music is loud I've been on the phone for 15min and the gentlemen is doing nothing to help. He keeps saying, " I will do what I can" Instead of helping or resolving my issue. I hopeless and noone seems to know how to help.

Hey, you guys from India. Don't take Adobe's poor service personally. Their service to the U.S. also sucks. I opened a case four days ago and have not heard back. I can't install (to my new computer) my original Flash 4, so I can't install the Flash MX upgrade.
Maybe Adobe wants everyone to be so frustrated with Macromedia products that we stop using them.

I also face the same problems.
This is what gives rise to duplicate/pirated use of softwares.

Why don't u just download a free one online... Just like I did... :)
U know, i'm from xUSSR and to tell the truth the people here are less greedy or sth... That if they find smth or even buy some software they put in online for others to download and use it for free... So it's very easy to find the needed software at .RU domain websites....
(Sorry if I said sth bad against other non xUSSR people)...
PS. If u still haven't got Flashlite 2 for ur mobile i can give u a wap link so u can download it for free... Just hit me back for that...

I'm with you dude. I bought Flash Lite 2 in the USA for me. I bought Flash Lite 2 for an Aussie. But, when I tried to buy it for an Indian, no dice... it showed it purchased, but didn't download.
Either way, great to see Bill's on the case.

Got more info... the Macromedia online store serving India went down due to tax issues with initial Adobe/Macromedia merger (needed paperwork to collect local taxes on sales, I think)... now it looks like there's a way through these problems and there's anticipation of an online store including India in the next rev. As with all predictions of the future this is subject to change, but that's the info I'm getting today.

I've been pursuring this too, and the current info I have from the web team is that, for some reason, there *is* no online store for India... still digging at the reason why.
Closest I see right now is the retailer list available in a dropdown on the following page... lists lots of local sellers, but I need to understand better why ther'es not yet an online store for India.
http://www.macromedia.com/international/buy/
Wildcard: Site integration is still underway... lots of changes scheduled for the next six months anyway, so the sequencing has a couple of variables in it.
Sorry it frustrated you enough to post.... :(

Raymond, believe me I didn't know about the Virtual Debit card. Not even sure that anyone outside of USA can do it.
Yeah, I meant directly hitting my paypal account.
Brandon, I am sure issue would get fixed asap. I could have discussed this with folks in MM before posting but somehow it didn't strike to my mind. But I think, this is a general way of talking about concerns. I am sure, Macromedia(Adobe) folks are taking it seriously because I have already been contacted about this.
